Junior Royals claim 3rd place

June 29: A goalless draw against Royal Wahingdoh saw Nangkiew Irat go on to win the U-19 Shillong Premiere League 2013 title on Saturday at Polo Grounds. At the end of the league, Nangkiew were able to muster up 14 points from six matches while Rangdajied United claimed second place following at a close 13. On the other hand, a win for Royal Wahingdoh would have elevated them to top spot with 14 points, but that was not to be as they concluded their tourney at 12 points.

Earlier, Nangkiew Irat created several scoring opportunities but were unable to capitalize. For Wahingdoh, keeper Kennio had a good game with a number of top class saves despite his side’s attack lacking the much-needed penetration.
