Maitshaphrang’s third hat trick halts Malki

June 17: Royal Wahingdoh U-19 cruised to a comfortable 5-0 victory against Malki on Monday courtesy Maitshaphrang’s third hat trick in four matches this season. Eijingmut’s 9^th minute goal laid the foundation for yet another comprehensive win for the junior Royals at the JN Stadium in their Premiere League tie on Monday. Malki failed to capitalise on their chances, something that could have changed the fortune of the match.

Maitshaphrang was the star of the day, scoring three goals in the second half to ensure an unassailable win over their opposition. His first goal came in the 56^th minute after he was brought down in the box. The striker scored a second in the 78^th minute followed by a nimble right footer past the keeper in the 86^th minute for his third goal.

Earlier, Donald Thangkiew doubled Wahingdoh’s lead in the 41^st minute after collecting a rebound and sending a strong long range shot into the net.
